HOW ERAPIN WORKS
A daily geographic-reasoning activity that builds spatial thinking — relative and absolute location — through real historical events. Students deduce where and when; they don't memorize. Built and verified by social studies teachers like you.
THE ACTIVITY
Students see a historical event with a description, image, and era clue. They reason their way to the answer — combining absolute location (specific named places) with relative location (position relative to neighbouring features) to place the event on a world map, then date it on the timeline. They win through reasoning, not recall: the students who struggle with memorization can win on deduction. Closer guess means more points. Variable session length — pick 5, 8, 10 or 15 events, or choose exactly the ones you want, sized to the time you have.
How teachers use it in the lesson:
